To Crush a Butterfly

Nobody

Kills a butterfly

Go to the fields,

To find a flutter,

Snare our desires,

And crush it in fist

Nobody

Wants to be alone

We look for beauty,

Call it our fate,

Cherish the moments,

Hold the being

To our chest

Nobody

Nobody,

Means to…

We grasp too tight

To keep it around

We open our palm

To find shattered wings

  1. I read the first few lines of this without reading the rest yet, not completely sure what it was about, but the first few lines are captivating. The rest is too but im just saying the first few lines made me pause, stop and think. I really loved it
